Hello, I am trying to contact any surviving relatives of my Great Grandfather James Greaves (1855-1925) of Stoke Works near Droitwich. He married Lucy Goldby in 1878 and together they had twelve children; Ellen (1879), Horace James (1880), Margaret (1881), Albert Henry (1882), Walter (1884), Esther (1886), Reginald (1887), (My Grandfather Ralph (1889), Fred (1890), Harold (1891), Charles (1893), Victor (1899). The children attended the Stoke Works school provided by John Corbett, and in adulthood worked with their father and other relatives at the Saltworks. James Greaves served for seventeen years as Secretary of the Stoke branch of the Saltmakers Trade Union, and his wife Lucy was the Midwife for the area. They spent their last years at the almshouse at Wychbold.
My grandfather married Emily Portman in 1912 and served along with five of his brothers during World War 1, all survived. In 1925 he moved to Stafford to work at Chance & Hunts Saltworks, I know that Fred his younger brother also moved. My grandfather can not have had much contact with his family after that as my father did not even know about his large number of brothers and sisters.
I have managed to find a lot of information about family members from the Worcester record office and also going through old copies of the Bromsgrove messenger, but I am sure their are lots of other tales to be told. I am particularly interested in the connections with the Saltworks and period around the 1st World War. I would love to hear from anybody who knows or remembers any of the people I have mentioned.

I am researching my Berrow family roots. My great grandfather Ambrose Alexander Berrow was born in Malvern Hills in 1846. He had three sons from his first marriage. They were Alexander, Allen, and Walter.
Walter had a daughter named Maude. She married a Farndon and had a son named John. Maude is now deceased. I don't know who his first wife was.
He divorced his first wife and married a second time to Jessie Helen Weaving in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England on 13 Aug 1882. They moved to the USA in 1885. Walter had a daughter named Maude. She married a Farndon and had a son named John. Maude is now deceased.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has ANY information on the Berrow family. I live in Canada which makes it a bit more difficult to do research in England. The internet has been a great help. Cheers Daphne Berrow address 2541 Dingwall Street Duncan BC V9L 2Y8 Canada Telephone 250-748-7999

Could anyone please tell me if there are any Skinner's still living in Redditch.
Before I emigrated to N.Z. in 1955 we had relatives living there. Arthur Skinner who married Florence Hunt, they had a Son Albert who married Winnie, and a daughter Doris who I believe remained unmarried. I have a very old newspaper cutting of the 'Studley Rovers' team taken in 1913, Arthur Skinner was the trainer at this time. The picture also has my grandfather Charles Hanson in it who was married to Florence Skinner (nee Hunt) Sister Elizabeth.
Any help would be much appreciated. Regards, Pam Robb, N.Z.

Hello,
I am searching for Stanley Brian Evans and his wife, Iris Evans. I beleive that they have lived in Bromsgrove, Evesham or Redditch area. They have a son Steven Martin and a daughter Susan Jane Evans. These people are the only known family of Joseph Taylor who was born in Redditch. At the age of 13, Joseph was sent to Canada as a Home Child. Contact with Stanley's parents (Tom and Ada Evans) ended around 1967 but we would dearly love to get in touch with this family if at all possible. Joseph was my Grandfather and as the case with many Home Children, he did not discuss his life in England. I would be very greatful if anyone reading this, who may know the persons we are searching for, could get word to them.
Name: Stanley Brian Evans
